{"id":3198,"date":"2016-01-01T22:08:08","date_gmt":"2016-01-01T22:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/?p=3198"},"modified":"2016-01-01T22:09:01","modified_gmt":"2016-01-01T22:09:01","slug":"top-five-of-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/top-five-of-2015","title":{"rendered":"Our Top Five of 2015!"},"content":{"rendered":"<body><p><\/p>\n<h2>Archiving Wheeling\u2019s Year in Review<\/h2>\n<hr>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-40\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/logo1.jpg?resize=150%2C150\" alt=\"Archiving Wheeling Logo\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" loading=\"lazy\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/logo1.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/logo1.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/logo1.jpg?resize=65%2C65&amp;ssl=1 65w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/>Officially launched in December of 2014, 2015 was Archiving Wheeling\u2019s\u00a0first full year, and it was a indeed\u00a0good year for our fledgling community experiment to bridge collections, tell stories, and preserve Wheeling\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What made last year such a great year?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To start, there were the partnerships with <a href=\"http:\/\/weelunk.com\/avalon-on-the-ohio\/\" target=\"_blank\">Weelunk<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/wheeling-heritage-acquires-rare-books-library\/\" target=\"_blank\">Wheeling National Heritage Area Corporation<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/friends-get-an-inside-glimpse\/\" target=\"_blank\">Friends of Wheeling<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/digital-storytelling\/\" target=\"_blank\">The California University of Pennsylvania\u00a0and Heinz\u00a0History Center Affiliates Program<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/jj-young-railroad-photographer\/\" target=\"_blank\">West Virginia Northern Community College and Alumni Association<\/a>;\u00a0the collections showcased from Heritage Partners\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/contributors\/contributor-diocese\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Archives<\/a>, private collector\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/north-wheeling-glass-company\/\" target=\"_blank\">Thaddeus Podrastsky<\/a>, an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/when-hollywood-came-to-moundsville\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ohio Valley Hollywood Star (double)<\/a>, and of course, our very own <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/contributors\/contributor-ocpl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ohio County Public Library Archives<\/a>; Special thanks are again due\u00a0to the Diocesan Archives, for generously contributing to five <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archivingwheeling.org\/blog\/contributors\/contributor-diocese\/\" target=\"_blank\">archivingwheeling.org<\/a> posts and two archives displays at the Ohio County Public Library in 2015. Our #1 post of the year was another great partnership between\u00a0the Ohio County Public Library Archives and the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Archives.
